I traveled to Kenya and Rowanda  in 2018.  Long hikes into the hilly jungle of Rowanda was rewarded with two encounters with Gorilla families  including silver backs, mommas and babies.  Five safaris on the Massai Mara plains in  Kenya were highlighted  by up close encounters of many species. 

Who draws anymore?

Foregoing the use of brushes, this series features pours of liquid watercolor paint directly, allowing it to flow spontaneously, not quite knowing what the final composition may turn out like. Hunting in the Water is a reflection of the travels I have taken to swim with the whales in the Dominican Republic and of friends who have sat next to bears in Alaska and the Arctic.
