Discussion
I will need to know how many elements you would like in the painting (eg. one rock or a group of rocks, for example), what size you are looking for, when you need the piece by, where you need it delivered and what work you are looking for (an original painting on it's own or with the addition of digital file to make prints or stationary). If the item is small enough, you can send it to me or I can work from good quality photos, preferably in natural sunlight and numerous viewpoints.
quote & Deposit
Based on our discussion and the complexity of the work, I’ll send you a quote and if you would like to proceed, I typically take a 30% deposit to start work.
composition
Together we will discuss what composition you would like and I can do a rough sketch for your approval. If you would like to make comments to the sketch we can go back and forth two times until it’s just right!
colors
If working from photographs or originals, I’ll work to resemble any specific colors as close as I can, but understand this piece will not be a photorealistic depiction. Where there is creative license, we will discuss color choices. I only proceed to painting stage once sketch and colors are approved.
painting
I’ll send you picture of the piece once it is finished before it is shipped. Due to the medium of watercolor, any changes are very limited.
shipping
I will send you the original with a certificate of authenticity and backing board with clear wrap and tracked shipping.
If you would like the art scanned to make prints or stationary and/or framing, this will be done prior to shipping.
